After doing a quick review of the Google Domestic Trends Chart for Auto Financing it is apparent that many Americans will be looking to buy a car or truck during the last week of the year. This is one of the few categories that actually sees a pop before the New Year rolls around. Most personal finance searches stay extremely low until the beginning of January; this is not the case when it comes to auto financing. Credit & Lending and Mortgage searches are likely to skyrocket starting the first full week of January.
After a summer that involved Cash for Clunkers one must wonder if there will be a significant amount of car sales this years end. Google searches are likely to tell us how interested Americans are in buying a car and might predict the sales of most automakers. The auto financing search category is currently at its lowest levels since the end of 2005 so it is not looking pretty.
