Investing Searches Decline – Americans Losing Interest in Investing?

Over the last few years the stock market has went for quite a wild ride.  In 2008 the market was down significantly during the credit crisis and in 2009 we saw a very strong rebound.  The increased volatility has likely scared many investors away.  It seems to be the case that the search term “investing” is losing its luster.  By looking at the Google Trends chart you can clearly see that investing as seen a decline in searches.

From the data it is interesting to note that Singapore actually searches the term investing more than the United States.  The city that searches investing the most is Calgary, Canada.
