Today we learned that Sarah Palin will join Fox News as a contributor. During the 2008 election the popularity of Sarah Palin was up and down. When it was first announced that she was running as the vice presential candidate there was a huge spike in searches for “Sarah Palin.” As the election wore on many Americans realized that she was not the eloquent public speaker or interviewee that they thought she would be. Her popularity waned but was still relatively high.
By looking at the Google Trends chart you can see the spike when it was announced that she would be the vice presidential candidate. Since then there has been a steady decline but the role with Fox News might increase her popularity once again.
