The USAWorld Cup soccer team is coming off a tie with England and is looking to gain valuable points against Slovenia on June 18, 2010 at 10 AM. When the United States played England many felt that there was no chance for the United States to gain any points or have the ability to win.
The United States soccer team proved many people wrong as they played a very impressive game and had several opportunities to take the lead in the second act. With the game against England behind them and will be very interesting to see how USA plays versus Slovenia in their second game.
There has been much talk about the possibility of the United States goalkeeper having broken ribs. At the present time it looks as if this is not the case and he will play in the second game of the World Cup. If he is tested early and often fans will begin to understand of his ribs are truly broken.
The goalkeeper is very important for a World Cup team as he is the last line of defense. If the United States goalkeeper is struggling greatly in the first half of the game versus Slovenia then it may be the case that there is a change as winning with an injured goalkeeper is very difficult.
The World Cup has been a highly watched event over the last week and we can expect those ratings to continue to increase as group play moves follower. When the World Cup gets whittled down to 16 teams it will likely be the case that even more Americans start to watch this sporting event.
