Many mortgage lenders, including Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo and JP Morgan Chase continue to report 30 year fixed mortgage rates under 5%. There are opportunities out there but it may also be smart to contact a local mortgage lender and get a rate quote. Right now Zillow.com is reporting 30 year rates around 4.4%.
