Home Loan Interest Rates – How Can I Refinance or Lock in to a Low Mortgage Rate Today?
Home loan interest rates are very close to an all time low at the present time and many Americans are asking the question ” how can I refinance or locked in to a low mortgage rate today?” Unfortunately, not all American homeowners will have the opportunity to find the lowest possible rates available. In the summer of 2010 we are seeing many mortgage lenders report that 30 year fixed mortgage rates are below 4.5%. It is important to distinguish that only the best borrowers are going to have the opportunity to lock in to low mortgage interest rates at this level.
To gain access to 30 year fixed mortgage rates under 5% you will need a significant amount of home equity if you are looking to refinance or you would need a debt to income ratio below 40% if you are looking to lock into your first home loan. All borrowers will need a credit score that is above 740 to have any opportunity at the low home loan interest rates being advertised today. By not meeting these requirements it will be extremely difficult to have any chance to see a mortgage rate quote under 5% in the near future.
With this being the case it is always wise to make sure that your financial balance sheet is completely clean. To do this you will need to make certain that all your bills are paid in full and on time each and every month.
