Unemployment Extension Michigan News – Benefits in August 2010 Not Available to 99ers as Governments Waivers

Unemployment extension has been a buzz phrase lately as many Americans have a very strong opinion on this issue.  As of August 2010 unemployment extension Michigan news is going to cause many 99ers to be quite upset as there is no benefits extension early in the month.  Through much of the month it will be a strong debate about this issue on Washington but it will likely take several days and possibly weeks to pass a bill to extend unemployment past 99 weeks.

For those of you who have read my column you know exactly how I feel about an extension of unemployment benefits.  Almost two FULL years, (99 weeks) is just too much to allow for unemployment.   This is just enabling Americans to stop pursuing work.  While there are millions out there who cannot find job there are also millions who are sitting back and taking in a paycheck from the government (I have several relatives that do this!).  With this in mind, the unemployment extension Michigan news updates are likely to be very bad for 99ers and maybe that will force Americans to get out and find an actual job.

My opinion on unemployment and the extension of unemployment insurance.

  1. IF there is actual real jobs. I find most jobs either not hiring, give the run around, or simply want you work for free or some type of promising commision. I have recently completed an MBA degree program and pursuing another master’s degree, and I tell you, the real jobs that pay a real wage are not out there.

Mark, this is all too common. Those on unemployment want a “real wage.” Well, unfortunately beggars can’t be choosy and sometimes you have to take a lower wage to at least get your foot in the door. I encourage people to volunteer for FREE just to get the opportunity to talk with someone else who has a job and could offer assistance. You never know who you will bump in to when you are actually doing some type of work rather than sitting at home and complaining that there is no Tier 5 unemployment benefits extension.

It is just beyond my comprehension how those who have managed to keep their jobs, through no falt of their own, can sit on their high and might rumps and tell those of us who are pounding the streets trying to find work,,,, (and yes many more of us a willing to take ANYTHING)….to look harder. But, that’s ok because the saying “What goes around comes around” is very much true. Those who are telling us to get off our butts will have their day to see how it REALLY is… SOON. The insurance companies will be next to let go of many many employees.

I do not know what states of the union these people live in but if they would take a vacation in say, oh maybe MICHGAN, THE AUTO CAPITOL OF THE WORLD…. Oh I am sorry that statement is now FALSE.
They will see the reality of joblessness….Michigan WAS a grand state to work in….. manufacturing jobs were every where supplying the Big Three with parts. Now …. well we aren’t manufacturing anything BECAUSE the Big Three are barely working themselves. I sure wish I knew those people who can afford to purchase new cars….. I certainly can’t. WHY? BECAUSE I CANNOT FIND A JOB!!!!! At least not one that will pay enough for the auto payments after my house, utilities, food, and gas for the clunker I MUST continue to drive.

GET YOUR HIGH AND MIGHTY NOSES OUT OF THE CLOUDS THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE!!! WORKING BECUASE YOUR TIME IS COMING AND IT WILL BE UPON YOU MUCH SOONER THAN YOU THINK.

I would just like to say that I lost my job in November 2009 due to downsizing. I did not choose this to happen to me, most people don’t. I have been looking for a job ever since and I have had very, very little luck. I get the impression that some employers look at me like I am over-qualified while others look at me like I am under-qualified. How would they even know if they do not even talk to me?? I have applied for hundreds of jobs and I have only had 2 interviews. They only place that would hire me is a retail chain that will only offer me part time and $7.40 an hour.

I am glad to have some kind of a job but I am so poor and it scares the hell out of me. I have to worry about rent, car payments, insurance, utilities, gas, and I have a teenage son who is in his senior year of high school (expensive year). I have used up my savings account just so I could get by. I don’t know what I am gong to do. I am still looking for another job; I actually have never stopped. I am attending college and I graduate next year but I am flipping the bill because I did not qualify for a free education. I can only hope that my schooling will pay off and help me get a decent career.

I do not want to hear that there are jobs and that I should not receive anymore unemployment help. You don’t know what it’s like until you lose it all. Oh, to top it off, I had to go to the hospital and I don’t have medical insurance anymore so know I have another big bill to worry about it. It’s so easy for people to talk smack until something happens to them, then they care.
