A very interesting game during the first week of the college football season will be Colorado vs Colorado State. The game will be played at a neutral location at Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado as this will continue until 2019. With this being a very big rivalry game on the first Saturday of the football season look for many people to search for the Colorado vs Colorado State TV schedule. This game will be aired at 1:00 PM on the Mtn which is not available for all cable packages. This is the channel that usually comes with the sports tier of most satellite and cable providers. Many people also want to see predictions and picks of this game as rivalry games are always fun to watch.
Over the last several years the Colorado Buffaloes have greatly struggled when it comes to college football. Dan Hawkins was brought in from Boise State and was expected to resurrect this once great program but has done very little to get the program on track. His son, Cody Hawkins, is now the quarterback in Boulder and if Dan Hawkins could not win over seven games in 2010 that it’s very possible that he will no longer be the coach at the University of Colorado.
What is very interesting to note is that Boise State has continued to improve each and every year since Dan Hawkins left. If Hawkins is dismissed as coach of the Colorado Buffaloes it will be very interesting to see if he lands on his feet back in Boise as some type of assistant in 2011. That being said he is still the head coach of the Colorado buffaloes and has an excellent opportunity to coach his team to several victories in 2010.
It is quite interesting to note that Colorado is a double-digit favorite in this game which has not been the case since Dan Hawkins has been head coach. There have been very few games that the Colorado buffaloes have been huge favorites in this century. It will be interesting to see how the Buffaloes react as large favorites over Colorado State. Colorado State is not expected to have a very good season in 2010 but anything can happen in a rivalry game as can be seen throughout the country during college football season.
With Dan Hawkins greatly struggling as the Buffaloes head coach it will be interesting to see how the season goes. With a big victory over Colorado State to start the season there is a very strong possibility that Dan Hawkins could get to a bowl game in 2010. If Colorado greatly struggles in the first game and loses to Colorado state that it is going to be a very long season in Boulder as many fans will want Dan Hawkins out as soon as possible. It will also be interesting to see what happens with his son if he struggles at quarterback early in the season.
With the Colorado Buffaloes rarely being heavy favorites it is very hard to pick them to cover the spread. They may very well win this television game but the win by double digits is something that has not happened in quite some time when it comes to a big game and the Colorado Buffaloes. If Dan Hawkins can get his team together and pull out a huge victory this year that it may lead towards a very successful season when it comes one step at a time in the first step will be to beat the Colorado State Rams in week one of the 2010 college football season.
Another very interesting note is that Colorado is in a very weak Big 12 North division that does not have many teams that are vying for a spot in the top 25. If the buffaloes can get off to an early hot streak then there is a possibility that they could be playing for a very good ballgame as the only great team in the Big 12 North is Nebraska. It is highly unlikely that Colorado will be able to beat Nebraska but they could come in second or third in the Big 12 North division.
Over the next few weeks we will get a very good understanding about the security of data Hawkins job. As of right now he is definitely on the hot seat but with a few quick victories it may be the case that he solidifies himself for another season in Boulder. By going to a bowl game in 2010 Dan Hawkins could make certain that his job is secure and that he will be back as a head coach for the 2011 season.
