Purdue vs Notre Dame TV Schedule – Picks and Predictions for NBC Week 1 Fighting Irish Football Game

There is very little doubt that Notre Dame is always one of the most talk about teams in college football. It seems that no matter how bad or how good this program is that is always on national TV and there are millions who watch Notre Dame football. With this being the case look for many people the search for the Purdue vs Notre Dame TV schedule. The kickoff game for the season will take place at 3:30 on NBC and many people will want picks and predictions for the Notre Dame opening game as well as the entire season.

New coach Brian Kelly takes over at Notre Dame and is looking to start the season with a victory. Unfortunately, Purdue has a very experienced quarterback and Robert Marve who transferred from Miami. Many are predicting Purdue to be a sleeper team in the Big 10 and there is a very good possibility that they could go into Notre Dame Stadium and win the first game of the season. It seems that every first-year coach at Notre Dame does very well in their opening season but then starts to slide each year thereafter. With that being the case many feel that Brian Kelly is going to have a very good season with quite an easy schedule in 2010.

It will be very interesting to see what happens with the Notre Dame season as fans are likely going to demand high quality performance on the field as they have not seen a very good Notre Dame team in several years.  With the Fighting Irish expecting national championships every single year it will be quite the struggle to meet expectations. Brian Kelly did a very good job in Cincinnati as he led them to the Big East championship and a BCS game but the expectations of Cincinnati were nothing compared to Notre Dame.

On the other side of the ball Purdue is looking to improve their record this season as they would like to make a run at a very respectable bowl. With an experienced quarterback it makes things much easier in college football as they tend to make better decisions and crucial parts of the game. The entire Purdue schedule is as follows:

DATE OPPONENT TIME (ET) Location Result
Sat, Sep 4th, 2010 at Notre_Dame 03:30 PM Notre Dame Stadium
Sat, Sep 11th, 2010 Western_Ill 12:00 PM Ross-Ade Stadium
Sat, Sep 18th, 2010 Ball_State 12:00 PM Ross-Ade Stadium
Sat, Sep 25th, 2010 Toledo TBA Ross-Ade Stadium

Sat, Nov 13th, 2010 Michigan TBA Ross-Ade Stadium
Sat, Nov 20th, 2010 at Michigan_State TBA Spartan Stadium
Sat, Nov 27th, 2010 Indiana TBA Ross-Ade Stadium

Some of the out of conference games are not very difficult for Purdue but having a Ohio State and Wisconsin on the schedule will always be a challenge. Even though the Purdue boilermakers beat Ohio State last year it is highly unlikely that they will be able to replicate that performance this year as Ohio State will be looking for revenge at home in their bid for a national title chance.

Notre Dame has a very workable schedule in 2010 as they only have four road games. The entire 2010 Notre Dame schedule is as follows:

DATE OPPONENT TIME (ET) Location Result
Sat, Sep 4th, 2010 Purdue 03:30 PM Notre Dame Stadium
Sat, Sep 11th, 2010 Michigan 03:30 PM Notre Dame Stadium

Sat, Oct 30th, 2010 Tulsa 02:30 PM Notre Dame Stadium
Sat, Nov 13th, 2010 Utah 02:30 PM Notre Dame Stadium
Sat, Nov 20th, 2010 Army 07:00 PM Yankee Stadium – Bronx, NY
Sat, Nov 27th, 2010 at U-S-C 08:00 PM Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

If Notre Dame can take care of business at home and there is no doubt that they should have a great opportunity to go to a respectable ballgame in 2010. Some analysts feel as if Notre Dame should win most of their home games which in turn will give them a record above 500. It used to be the case that Notre Dame would not take a lesser ballgame but after several years of subpar football it is highly possible that they will take any bold that they are offered in 2010.
