SMU will take on Texas Tech in a game that takes place on Sunday, September 5 on ESPN at 330. With the NFL not starting until next week it will likely be the case that many people search for the SMU vs Texas Tech TV schedule. This is not the most popular game of the first weekend of the college football season but many fans will want predictions and picks of this game as it is one of the best games that will take place on Sunday. It will also be Tommy Tuberville’s first game as the Texas Tech head coach.
It has been well known that Texas Tech scores a ton of points over the last several years but things may change with a former SEC coach now running the program. There is a very strong possibility that Texas Tech will play much better defense and run the ball more than in the past. Even though Texas Tech has been very successful throwing the ball around they could never beat teams that were much more physical than that. Even though they beat Texas they still struggled greatly when it mattered most and they had to stop the run.
Tommy Tuberville will likely bring in a physical attitude that will be much different from the Texas Tech teams of the past. Even though they will not score 40 or 50 points again there is a possibility that this new type of football could bring more victories for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. It will be very interesting to see how long it takes to implement this new style. The first season will be very difficult as the new coach will not have the exact players that he wants but the team does have a great amount of talent and they should be able to win several games in the 2010 season.
The entire 2010 Texas Tech schedule is as follows

Playing in the Big 12 South division is never easy and 2010 could be even more difficult. Games at Oklahoma and Texas at home are almost sure losses and traveling to Texas A&M and Colorado will not be easy either. There is very little doubt that the new Texas Tech head coach has a lot on his table this year and it will be interesting to see if he is up for the challenge. SMU will likely not be a team that challenges Texas Tech but if they do it could be a very long season and Lubbock Texas.
If this game is very close and you can expect many Texas Tech fans to be quite concerned as playing in the Big 12 is much different than taking on SMU. The alumni and fans base at Texas Tech will want to see as many victories as possible but hopefully they will understand that the first year under new head coach does not mean that they will get double-digit victories. With a brand-new style and a much more physical attitude it may take several years for Tommy Tuberville to get to the point of double-digit wins that the Texas Tech fans have seen over the last several years.
With no NFL games going on on Sunday, September 5 look for many fans to watch the SMU vs Texas Tech game. For those not taking a Labor Day weekend vacation this is sure to be a very fun and exciting game to watch as no one truly knows what the Red Raiders will do under their new head coach. One thing is for certain, many Americans will want to know the SMU vs Texas Tech TV schedule and they will also want predictions and picks for this game in Lubbock Texas.
