KMart Memorial Day Sales 2011 – Deals Online and In Stores for Furniture, a TV, Clothes and Video Games

It is hard to believe that Memorial Day is just around the corner but this means that many thrifty shoppers are going to start searching for Memorial Day sales and deals very soon.  With this in mind it should come as no surprise to see millions looking for KMart Memorial Day sales in 2011.  When looking for deals online or in stores it will likely be the case that many shoppers look for furniture, a TV, clothes or video games.


There is very little doubt that KMart has struggled to keep up with other retailers such as WalMart or Target but there are still opportunities to gain new customers by offering the lowest prices on very hot products.  Although KMart does not carry every product it is still the case that they carry a wide variety of furniture, TVs, tech gadgets, video games, clothes and other everyday needs.  As we get closer and closer to Memorial Day 2011 it will likely be the case that many of these items will be discounted as much as 50% or 75%.

Not long ago Sears Holdings purchased KMart so do not be surprised to see many of the same deals offered at both of these stores.  With online sales picking up for many companies it should also be true that there are many online sales and deals that can help customers not only save money but avoid the big crowds as well.  Not having to fight crowds is very important for many when it comes to major sales weekends.

Kmart (sometimes styled as “K-Mart”) is a chain of discount department stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam which houses the largest Kmart in the world. The chain acquired Sears in 2005, forming a new corporation under the name Sears Holdings Corporation. Kmart is the third largest discount store chain in the world, behind Wal-Mart and Target; all three chains were founded in 1962.

Kmart’s world headquarters was located in Troy, Michigan, in a sprawling complex which, since Kmart’s relocation to Illinois, has been slated for demolition.[3]
Kmart became known for its “Blue Light Specials.” They occurred at surprise moments when a store worker would light up a mobile police light and offer a discount in a specific department of the store. At the height of Kmart’s popularity, the phrase “attention Kmart shoppers” also entered into the American pop psyche, appearing in films and other media such as Troop Beverly Hills, Six Days Seven Nights, Beetlejuice, and Dawn of the Dead (1978).
